In other crowdfunding-related news, a pair of Long Island hardcore fans named Nick and Chris Lilli are raising money for a documentary on the region’s legendary DIY hardcore tradition, titled Something in the Water: A Film About the Long Island Hardcore Music Scene. Of particular note are the incentives, which rely largely on contributions from Saint Vitus Bar (whose owners were heavily involved in the 90s/00s LIHC scene). $300 will get you five show passes to Vitus, plus a DVD, a t-shirt, and thanks in the credits. $500 nets you a one-year unlimited Vitus pass plus the same goodie package, and $1000 scores lifetime unlimited access to Vitus gigs. If you plan to attend more than 100 Vitus shows before you kick the bucket, it’s actually kind of a steal. (You may want to spring for earplugs, too.)
