Illinois indie rockers Looming released the underrated Nailbiter LP on No Sleep last year, and now they've got a new single, "Tried and True." It basically picks up where the LP left off -- which, as I've said before, is kind of the middle ground between Hop Along and Screaming Females -- and it's very strong song with Jessica Knight's powerful voice leading the way. Here's what she tells us about it:

This song is about my struggles with personal growth and how the process is something that can be difficult for your loved ones to watch, especially if you are constantly relapsing and starting over. We wrote this in the wake of some pretty big positive changes within the band because two of our members moved across the country and we are learning to operate differently. It's the first song we've written long distance and it's the first song we have done since the release of Nailbiter and we are really proud of this one. We just want everyone to know that we are still here and we have way more in store!

The song premieres below. Check it out.

Looming are also about to go on a tour with Lemuria, which is a great well-matched double bill. That tour brings both bands to Atlanta's stacked Wrecking Ball fest. No NYC shows, but let's hope Looming and/or Lemuria play here soon. All dates are listed below.
