Lord Huron recently announced their new album Vide Noir and a tour, including a big NYC show happening May 3 at Beacon Theatre. That show went on sale earlier today and quickly sold out, but good news for anyone who missed out on getting tickets, wants to see them twice, or would rather see them in a standing room in Brooklyn: they already added a second NYC show for August 1 at Brooklyn Steel. Tickets go on sale Friday, 2/9 at 11 AM with an artist presale starting Tuesday (password = 3M3R4LDST4R). Each pair of tickets comes with a physical copy of Vide Noir.

Lord Huron also added new dates in Portland and Seattle, and they're playing a few festivals, including Firefly, Shaky Knees, and The National's Homecoming fest. Updated dates are listed below.

Lord Huron have changed their sound up a few times over the course of their career, from a couple freak folk-ish 2010 EPs, to the Mumfords-y folk rock of 2012's Lonesome Dreams and 2015's Strange Trails, and now they're doing something new for Vide Noir too. Main member Ben Schneider produced it himself, and he teamed with Flaming Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann to mix it, and you can definitely feel Fridmann's touch on lead singles "Ancient Names (Part I)" and "Ancient Names (Part II)." Part I is sort of an atmospheric, psychedelic take on big anthemic heartland rock (think Phosphorescent or The War On Drugs), and it's got some nice Western film score-ish guitar soloing in there too. Part II injects a dose of garage rock into the formula, keeping it anthemic and psychedelic but in a much more driving way. Listen to both below. Vide Noir drops on April 20 via Whispering Pines / Republic Records.
