The 2016 Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival happened last Saturday (7/16) in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, with a good time, New Orleans-leaning lineup including Dr. John and Kermit Ruffins, as well as Soulive, Folklore Urbano, Dahka Band and Samba New York. Dr. John has a couple more NYC appearances coming up. He'll play the Last Waltz 40th Anniversary screening during the free Lincoln Center Out of Doors on August 6, and then he'll next be at City Winery (8/14). Tickets for City Winery are show are on sale now.
