Louis CK and Jon Stewart talked Hillary and Trump; Flying Lotus working on feature film with Tim Heidecker

The NYC Comedy fest is currently underway with a tons of great shows around the city with the likes of Eric Andre, Patton Oswalt, Fred Armisen, Tig Notaro, Tracy Morgan, Hannibal Burress, and many more. You can still get tickets for a lot of those, and check out the full schedule while you’re at it.

As part of the festival, Jon Stewart, among many other famous people, performed at the Stand Up For Heroes benefit last night at the Theater at MSG. Stewart, who’s show is sadly missed at this time of year, talked about his 2013 twitter feud with Donald Trump, wherein Trump questioned Jon’s decision to change his last name (from Leibowitz), and Jon countered by famously dubbing Trump “Fuckface Von Clownstick.” It’s a funny bit, and mostly Jon seems just as confused and dismayed as many of us feel about this whole bizarre election.

Meanwhile, fellow Stand Up for Heroes performer Louis CK just stopped by Conan, which is taping out of The Apollo in NYC this week.He was also in a political frame of mind and talked about Hillary Clinton (who he supports). He called her “America’s tough bitch mother” and endorses her the way only he can. He just announced a second night at Madison Square Garden on December 16 (tickets). Watch his Conan appearance:

While on the subject of upcoming big NYC comedy shows, Ali Wong just added two more Town Hall shows on April 30 which are on BV presale right now (password: VEGANCOBRA).

In other comedy (but also music) news, Flying Lotus has shared some more details about his upcoming feature-film directorial debut which will feature comedian Tim Heidecker. FlyLo shared a short film of his own making called Royal at the SundanceNEXT fest in LA back in August, and now he’s revealed that that was just part of a full-length film called Kuso. The press release says, “Broadcasting through a makeshift network of discarded televisions, KUSO is tangled up in the aftermath of Los Angeles’ worst quake nightmare.” Tim is billed as “the boundary-illiterate ‘Phil,’ who spends most of his time trolling ‘B,’ aka Buttress, along with her awful trans-dimensional roommates.” Sounds insane, and if the trailer for Royal is any indication, it will be:

The movie also features input from the likes of Dave Willis (Aqua Teen Hunger Force) and animator David O’Reilly, and also stars George Clinton and Anders Holm alongside Heidecker and others.

And circling back to the political situation, Tim has certainly been throwing his hat in the comedic ring for the past few months. His “Decker” character is not so loosely-based on Trump, and he was trolling people at the RNC back in the summer, and he recently faux-endorsed Trump via his right-wing character on his web series On Cinema. Take a look at some of that here.
