Low Double Negative

Low announce new album & tour, share three songs

Low Double Negative

Slowcore vets Low have announced their twelfth album, Double Negative, due out September 14 via Sub Pop. A press release calls it “their most brazen, abrasive (and, paradoxically, most empowering) album,” and going by the three songs that came out alongside the album announcement, it does already seem like a more challenging, experimental album than what Low usually puts out. They re-teamed with producer B.J. Burton for this album, and made it at Justin Vernon’s April Base Studios in Eau Claire, WI (where they also made 2015’s Ones and Sixes with Burton), and they credit Burton as a “collaborative co-writer” for this album. The three songs that are out now — “Quorum,” “Dancing and Blood,” and “Fly” — are out as one lengthy, continuous video and you can also watch each song’s individual video separately. The songs have moments of electronic weirdness, psychedelic singing/songwriting, and more. Listen/watch below.

Low have also announced a tour, including two Brooklyn shows at National Sawdust on September 20 and 21. Tickets for those two shows go on sale Friday (6/15) at 9 AM. All dates are listed below.
