Lucy Dacus made a pretty noticeable breakthrough with her great 2016 debut album No Burden, which first came out via EggHunt Records and was later repressed by Matador Records. She'll follow it with her first album recorded for Matador, Historian, which comes out on March 2 (pre-order). It was produced by Collin Pastore, who also produced No Burden, and mixed by the great John Congleton (Angel Olsen, St. Vincent, Swans, Cloud Nothings, etc). The first single and opening track is "Night Shift," which Lucy says is the first breakup song she's ever written. It's the kind of keen, conversational indie rock that she did so well on her debut, and it opens with a line that instantly feels like it's gonna get quoted hundreds of times: "The first time I tasted somebody else’s spit, I had a coughing fit." Listen and check out the artwork and tracklist below.

Lucy also announced an extensive 2018 tour beginning in NYC the day the album comes out at Music Hall of Williamsburg (3/2). Tickets for that show will be on sale soon. All dates are listed below.
