Lush played London, their first show in nearly 20 years (video, setlist, pics)
Lush just played their first live show in nearly 20 years. It happened at London’s Oslo Hackney. It’s a warm up gig for the band’s big comeback tour which officially starts this weekend at Coachella. The band played new song “Out of Control” but, apart from “Ladykillers,” skipped final album Lovelife, focusing more on their earlier, more dreampop material. Lush’s new EP Blind Spot, which is out Friday, is very much in the mode of their shimmery early records. It’s really good. You can watch the video for “Out of Control” below. Their comprehensive box set, Origami, is out as a vinyl box set on Record Store Day which is this Saturday (4/16).
Lush’s second show will be in LA on Thursday, April 14 ahead of their Coachella appearance on Saturday, and they will be back in the fall for a full North American tour, which will be opened by Tamaryn (not a bad choice). The NYC show happens at Terminal 5 on September 14 (tickets). Updated dates are listed below.
