Madonna Madame X

Madonna cancels this weekend's Boston shows on "doctor's orders"

Madonna‘s current Madame X tour has had its share of problems, and then some; there have been reschedulings (and outright cancellations) in multiple cities due to production issues (and, in NYC, a knee injury), and a ticketholder sued Madonna and Live Nation over the shows’ late start times. The tour, which spends multiple nights in each city it stops in, was set to hit Boston next for three nights at the Boch Center Wang Theater starting on Saturday night (11/30), but all three shows are now cancelled.

“Please forgive this unexpected turn of events,” Madonna writes. “Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame ❌ journey with all of you.”

Because of “tight scheduling through the balance of the year,” according to a statement, the Boston shows won’t be rescheduled, and ticketholders will be refunded. The remainder of the tour is to go on as scheduled, for now, starting with Philadelphia on December 7, 8, and 11.
