Brooklyn punks MakeWar (fka Sad and French) recently signed to Red Scare Industries, and they'll release their first album for the label, Developing a Theory of Integrity, this fall (pre-order the CD from Red Scare or the LP from German label Gunner Records). You may know Red Scare as the label who helped break bands like The Menzingers and The Sidekicks, and if you dig that stuff, you're probably gonna dig MakeWar too. Their new single "Ode" is particularly Menzingers-esque -- anthemic and whiskey-fueled, but also reflective (it's also got a line about talking to a pretty bartender, so yeah, Menzingers-esque). We've got the premiere of that song and its video, which splices clips of the band performing and taking shots. Watch:

Like a lot of great punk bands, MakeWar will play The Fest in late October, and they'll be on tour with Australia's The Decline leading up to it. The tour includes a hometown show on October 21 at Gold Sounds with locals Adult Dude and Hot Knife, plus Philly's SteveO & The Crippling Addictions. Tickets for that show are on sale. All dates are listed below.
