Former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford (who was in the band from 1991-1997 and 2005-2006) releases a new solo album, The Vulture, this Friday (10/14) (pre-order). For this one, he got indie rock lifer John Vanderslice to produce, which makes for a pretty interesting pairing. "John Vanderslice is a quirky, extraordinary fellow," Marc says. "He's a very methodical guy. There aren't many do-overs. He keeps only one take of anything. I just loved the experience."

Ahead of the album's release, we're premiering the song "The Same Coming Up." It's a nice dose of Stones-y blues rock that should appeal to new and old Marc Ford fans alike, and you can hear it right here:
