Marilyn Manson injured on stage, NYC show cut short
Marilyn Manson was about five songs in to his Saturday (9/30) show at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom when a stage prop of a pair of guns fell on top of him during "Sweet Dreams." The show was put on hold while paramedics arrived on the scene with stretchers. The show did not start again and was officially over with an announcement that Marilyn was injured. Video of the incident, shot by Samantha Lavoz for BrooklynVegan, is above.
This injury comes just a day after Marilyn broke his ankle while performing "The Beautiful People" on Friday (9/29) at Stage AE in Pittsburg, PA. Hopefully Marilyn is okay! Stay tuned for more on the Hammerstein Ballroom show, which Alice Glass opened.
UPDATE: Variety reports:
A statement from the singer’s rep says “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of an incredible NYC show. He is being treated at a local hospital.” A source close to the situation told Variety shortly after the incident that Manson should be “fine,” but that was not an official comment.
UPDATE 2: Marilyn Manson has cancelled his tour dates through October 14.
