Mark Kozelek dreams of Elliott Smith on track from new LP w/ Ben Boye & Jim White

Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek stays busy. Having already released a collaborative album with Parquet Courts Sean Yeaton this year, he’s got another collaborative LP, this one with Jim White (Dirty Three, Nick Cave) and Ben Boye, that will be out October 6 via Caldo Verde. We’ve got the premiere of “The Black Butterfly” in which Kozelek delivers spoken word over White and Boye’s backing. It plays like a diary entry, detailing both the recording process and a dream Mark had about going on tour with Elliott Smith. Listen to that, and check out the tracklist, below.

Sun Kil Moon will be on tour this fall with Magik Magic Orchestra, and the NYC show (Town Hall on October 6) and a few other have him joined by Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley on drums, and Josh Haden of Spain on bass. Tickets for Town Hall are still available, and you can also enter to win a pair. Mark has a couple shows under his own name this month as well — all tour dates are listed below.
