Mark Kozelek's songs are about a lot of things, usually all at once, often playing out like diary entries. "Where's Gilroy?," which will be on his second album with Ben Boye and Jim White" is a very, very recent entry, where he muses on the mass shootings in Gilroy, CA, El Paso and Dayton, OH, as well America's history of violence and the numbness, anger and frustration we feel. The 15-minute song covers a lot of ground and has moments of beauty, sadness and humor...which is to say it's a Mark Kozelek song, with lovely playing from Boye and White. The song premieres here -- listen below.

Mark Kozelek with Ben Boye and Jim White 2 is due out March 6, 2020 on Caldo Verde. Before that, Mark's album with Petra Hayden, Joey Always Smiled, will be out October 11.
