Mastodon's Brann Dailor is guest drummer on 'Seth Meyers' this week; Carlos D joined the band last week (video)
Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor, who’s one of the best drummers on planet earth, will hop in on the already star-studded 8G Band on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week. Brann joins regular 8G members Marnie Stern, Seth Jabour and Syd Butler (Les Savy Fav), and Eli Janney (Girls Against Boys) and bandleader Fred Armisen. Says Dailor, “”I’m so excited to combine three of my favorite things. Playing drums, staying up late and watching tv. I love Seth Meyers and his show so I can’t wait to rip it with his band all next week!! It’s gonna be a blast!”
There’s a new guest drummer every week on Late Night (Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron sat in recently, as did Sleater Kinney’s Janet Weiss) and there are often other musicians sitting in as well. If you follow our Instagram, you may already know that last week saw Interpol bassist Carlos D (who devotes most his time these days to acting) joining in with the band, and making a fan out of guest Tracy Morgan.
