Wayne Kramer will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his classic proto-punk band MC5 with "Kick Out the Jams: The 50th Anniversary Tour." He's assembled a supergroup called MC50 that includes Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), drummer Brendan Canty (Fugazi), bassist Dug Pinnick (King's X), and frontman Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla). The dates for the tour have now been announced.

Dates include NYC-area stops at Long Island's Paramount Theatre on September 14 and Manhattan's Irving Plaza on September 17. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday, April 6 at 10 AM with a LiveNation presale for Irving Plaza starting Wednesday (4/4) at 10 AM.

Kramer also has a memoir on the way titled, The Hard Stuff: Dope, Crime, the MC5, and My Life of Impossibilities, that's out to be published August 14 by Da Capo Press. All tour dates are listed, along with a stream of Kick Out the Jams, below.
