Melvins Flipper

Melvins & Flipper team for new song "Hot Fish" (listen)

Well this is pretty awesome. Melvins and Flipper have teamed up for a new collaborative four-song 10″ EP that will be out this Sunday (6/9) via Amphetamine Reptile. Created by core Melvins members Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover, Flipper members Steve DePace and Ted Falconi, and Melvins collaborator/Mr. Bungle member Trevor Dunn, the first taste of the EP is title track “Hot Fish.” It’s exactly the kind of sludge punk freak-out you’d expect from a team-up like this, and you can stream it below.

Melvins are touring with Redd Kross (who they currently share members with and who have a new album coming) this year. Flipper (with David Yow on vocals) are doing a 40th anniversary tour this year.

We included both Melvins and Flipper in our recent list of 15 songs that influenced Nirvana (probably).
