The 2019 edition of Brooklyn Rock Lottery happens December 1 at Knitting Factory. This will be the ninth iteration of BKRL and if you're unfamiliar, the idea is 25 hand-picked musicians put their names in a hat on the morning of 12/1 and then five bands are created at random. They then have to write songs, rehearse and make their live debut that night. It's a lot of fun and while the full roster of musicians hasn't been announced, here's the initial lineup:

Andrew Wolfson // Active Bird Community
Brandon Asraf // Brick + Mortar
Bridget Kibbey
Ian Devaney // Nation of Language
Josh Karpeh // Cautious Clay
Justin Frye // PC Worship
Kirk Schoenherr // Nick Murphy / Casual Male
Lani Combier-Kapel // Weeping Icon
Madison Velding-Vandam // Bodega / The Wants
Maia Friedman // Dirty Projectors / Uni Ika Ai
Matt ‘Maffyu’ Byas // Phony Ppl
Matt Torrey // Jets To Brazil / Brooklyn Wind Symphony
Sean Hutchinson // Bleachers
Sebastian Thomson // Baroness

Tickets are on sale now and proceeds this year go to Atlas DIY, "a local NY non-profit working with immigrant youth to unlock access to legal services, learning opportunities, and leadership development, in a space owned, run and governed by the youth themselves."

In addition to the money raised with tickets, there's also a raffle during the show, prizes includes Delta airline tickets, Bonnaroo passes, SXSW wristbands, an Elsewhere season pass, gift certificates to Williamsburg Hotel, Paulie Gee's, The Gutter, Nitehawk Cinema, and more.
