Metal tours announced: Napalm Death, TITD/Obsessed, Spectral Voice, Migration Fest, more

Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too…

NAPALM DEATH / ABORTED / TOMBS / WVRM

Grind legends Napalm Death have a new 7″ on the way, and they also announced a lengthy North American tour. It starts out with a few West Coast dates featuring support from back-in-action hardcore spazzes The Locust and Nastie Band, and then the rest of the tour features Belgian death metal vets Aborted and fast-rising South Carolina grinders WVRM. Part of that run will also see those three bands joined by Brooklyn black/goth/whatever-ers Tombs. Since initially announcing the tour earlier this week, they added more dates (including a second Brooklyn show). All dates here.

PSYCHO LAS VEGAS FULL 2020 LINEUP

The full Psycho Las Vegas lineup is out now, and it’s insanely stacked, with Mercyful Fate, Danzig (playing Danzig II), The Flaming Lips, Curl Up and Die, Katatonia, HEALTH, Obituary, TSOL, Crowbar, Exhorder, Wolves In The Throne Room, Eyehategod, Pig Destroyer, Repulsion, and MUCH more.

MIGRATION FEST 2020

The full lineup for 20 Buck Spin and Gilead Media’s Migration Fest — which goes down August 1-2 in Pittsburgh — has been announced. It includes Black Magnet, Buildings, Buried At Sea, Cavernlight, Couch Slut, Daeva, Falls of Rauros, False, Immortal Bird, Imperial Triumphant, Kowloon Walled City, Krallice, Mizmor, Obsequiae, Ruin Lust, Skeleton, Spirit Adrift, Thou and Emma Ruth Rundle, Tomb Mold, Ulthar, Vastum, Witch Vomit, Yautja, and Yellow Eyes. Tickets go on sale February 6.

Legendary heavy bands Today Is The Day and The Obsessed are hitting the road together.

SPECTRAL VOICE / KRYPTS

Spectral Voice, the great Denver death doom band who share three members with current death metal leaders Blood Incantation, have announced a spring East Coast tour with Finnish death doomers (and Dark Descent labelmates) Krypts on most dates.

HORRENDOUS / CLOAK

One of the dates on the Spectral Voice tour overlaps with another very cool double billed metal tour, the Horrendous / Cloak tour.

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME

Between the Buried and Me recently expanded their 20th anniversary tour (which sees them playing two sets, a career-spanning set and a set where they’ll play 2009’s The Great Misdirect in full). It now includes two NYC shows. All dates here.

CHURCH OF MISERY

Tokyo doom vets Church of Misery are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a North American tour in February and March, including a run with Truckfighters. They recently added a second Brooklyn show to that run. Updated dates here.

CODE ORANGE

Code Orange added a hometown Pittsburgh release show to their tour with the stacked lineup of Every Time I Die, Zao, Jesus Piece, Machine Girl, and Facewreck.

ELDER / BASK

Boston’s proggy, doomy heavy rockers Elder just announced a new album and will be touring with Bask.

KUMA’S FEST

Chicago’s metal-friendly restaurant Kuma’s Corner is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year with a one-day mini music festival featuring thrash legends Anthrax, metal/punk lifers Converge, and hometown heroes Russian Circles, The Atlas Moth, and Indian. More info here.

SAMMY HAGAR / WHITESNAKE / NIGHT RANGER

Sammy Hagar and his band The Circle (guitarist Vic Johnson, for Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Jason Bonham) will team up this summer with fellow ’80s hard rockers White Snake and Night Ranger for a 30-date summer tour that kicks off July 9 in West Palm Beach and wraps up September 20 in Chula Vista, CA, with stops in Charlotte, Cincinnati, the NYC area (BB&T Pavilion on 7/19, Jones Beach on 7/26, PNC Bank Arts Center on 8/21), Dallas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and more. AGNOSTIC FRONT / SICK OF IT ALL

In December, classic NYHC bands Agnostic Front and Sick Of It All played four hometown shows together, and now they’re taking this double bill on a lengthy North American trek.

TERROR (W/ KUBLAI KHAN, MAGNITUDE, RESTRAINING ORDER)

Terror recently announced a West Coast tour with The Warriors, Creeping Death and Dare; and now Scott Vogel & co are now also set to hit the Eastern US with Kublai Khan, Magnitude, and Restraining Order.

SHIN GUARD / STANDARDS

Pittsburgh screamo band Shin Guard have been teasing a new album and, in more concrete news, announced a lengthy tour with LA instrumental math rock duo Standards this spring.

CIRCLE JERKS / NEGATIVE APPROACH / ADOLESCENTS

Circle Jerks added more reunion shows, including a lengthy run with fellow veteran hardcore bands Negative Approach and Adolescents.

PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS

UK stoner rockers Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs are releasing their new album Viscerals on April 3 via Rocket Recordings, and they’re also playing some US shows, including previously announced appearances at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on March 13 and SXSW. They also recently added a show happening at LA’s Moroccan Lounge on 3/15. All dates here.

WARHORSE

Reunited Massachusetts doom greats Warhorse play their BrooklynVegan-presented NYC show at Saint Vitus this Saturday (2/1) with Yatra and Green Dragon. After that, they have a Portland, Maine show on 3/21, Roadburn, and New Mexico’s Monolith on the Mesa Fest in May.
