Metal tours announced: Rivers of Nihil, Cannibal Corpse, Neurosis, Life Of Agony, more

Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too…

PSYCHO LAS VEGAS

Just a reminder that we’re less than a week away from this great pilgrimage to the Nevada desert.

NEUROSIS / BELL WITCH / DEAFKIDS

Neurosis’ live show remains truly earth-shattering, the kind of thing you really need to experience for yourself at least once (and hopefully more times than that), so it’s exciting that their East Coast/Midwest tour is finally underway. The tour began in Atlanta on Wednesday (8/7), and it’s with two great support bands: Bell Witch, who share Neurosis’ knack for mixing thick, lumbering riffs and gorgeous atmospheric passages but in a very different way, and Brazilian psychedelic punks Deafkids, who recently released a new album on Neurosis’ label. The tour includes a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on Saturday (8/11). All dates here.

CANNIBAL CORPSE

Following their recent slots on the Decibel Magazine and Slayer tours, death metal vets Cannibal Corpse have announced a headlining North American tour for this fall.

MIGRATION FEST 2020

20 Buck Spin and Gilead Media’s annual metal festival Migration Fest returns to Pittsburgh in Summer 2020. Lineup and all other details TBA, but stay tuned.

RIVERS OF NIHIL opening for FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY

Openers for the Fit For An Autopsy tour have been announced, including Lorna Shore and Dyscarnate on all dates, plus direct support on the first leg from Pennsylvania tech-death greats Rivers of Nihil. That includes the tour opener on October 24 at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus. All dates here.

NEGATIVE PLANE

Long-running New York-based black metallers Negative Plane have announced a hometown show for October 18 at Saint Vitus with Ominous Resurrection and Barrow Wight. It appears to be their only announced date at the moment, but stay tuned in case more are added.

LIFE OF AGONY

Brooklyn alt-metal vets Life Of Agony announced their new album The Sound of Scars, which is a sequel to their classic 1993 debut River Runs Red, and announced a world tour.

OM

Not only are Sleep fully back in action, Al Cisneros is staying active with his psychedelic band Om too and they have a newly-added NYC date and other shows.

IN COLD BLOOD

In Cold Blood emerged out of the same Cleveland metallic hardcore scene as Integrity and Ringworm (and shared members with both bands), and now they’re back with their first new album since their 1998 debut. They’re also touring.

PHARMAKON

Noise artist Pharmakon shared a second song off her upcoming album Devour (due 8/30 via Sacred Bones) today and she’s also going on a lengthy tour after playing Hopscotch Fest, including shows in Richmond, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Montreal, Providence, Philly, Baltimore, and more. All dates here.

FLOORPUNCH

Not a tour (or metal, but close enough), but NJ straightedge/youth crew vets Floorpunch announced that they’ll play their first NYC show since 2000 at NYC Edge Day with Down To Nothing, Regulate, One Step Closer, and more.

MARYLAND DEATHFEST 2020

Maryland Deathfest finalized its 2020 lineup, adding Bloodbath, Exhorder, Skitsystem, Negative Approach, Coffins, and more.
