Metal tours announced: Roadburn additions, Warhorse, Obituary, more
Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too...
MORE ROADBURN ADDITIONS
Last week, Roadburn announced its curators (Emma Ruth Rundle and Perturbator’s James Kent) and some sets (including Perturbator collaborating with Cult of Luna’s Johannes Persson, Julie Christmas collaborating with Johannes Persson and former Kylesa member Laura Pleasants, and more), and this week brought more announcements. Artists in residence will be Full of Hell and Lingua Ignota, who will play four sets each, including one collaborative set together. Full of Hell will perform sister albums Weeping Choir and Trumpeting Ecstasy in full, and a set of early material. Lingua Ignota will perform a set with all ALL BITCHES DIE material, a "grand re-imagining" of her great new album CALIGULA, and "there will be an extremely special covers set (the details of which we will keep under wraps for now)." Emma Ruth Rundle curated HIDE and Perturbator curated Boy Harsher, HEALTH, and She Past Away. Other additions include Dool, Bada, and Acid Rooster. Tickets go on sale September 24. More info here.
Warhorse’s reunion was a one-off that turned into a two-off, but from the stage of that second show (in Las Vegas), they announced they weren’t finished, and now a third show has been announced, happening at Rhode Island's Dusk on 9/28 with Witch King, Benthic Realm, and Dim. They also just announced a new booking agent. So surely even more shows are on the way.
GUNS N' ROSES openers
As previously reported, Guns N' Roses will head out on a brief headlining tour across North America this fall, and the band has unveiled several openers for the tour, which hits Charlotte, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, and more. Among these openers is country singer Shooter Jennings, who also opened bassist Duff McKagan's recent solo tour, along with Nashville-based Americana band Bishop Gunn, southern rockers Blackberry Smoke, hard rock band Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, and LA band Dirty Honey on select dates. Check here for the full list of openers and tour dates.
Liturgy just released their first new song in four years today, they're about to debut more new music live at Brooklyn's Market Hotel tonight, and they're touring the West Coast after that.
MURDER IN THE FRONT ROW SCREENINGS
Thrash metal doc Murder In The Front Row has several screenings coming up and a related panel at New York Comic Con. More info, and our interview with director Adam Dubin, here.
DEATH ANGEL / EXMORTUS / HELLFIRE
Thrash vets Death Angel (who were one of many bands featured in Murder in the Front Row) released their latest LP Humanicide earlier this year, and now they've announced a headlining North American tour.
TOOL / KILLING JOKE
The Tool / Killing Joke tour went on sale today and is not surprisingly selling out quickly, so they already started adding new dates.
HOSPITAL PRODUCTIONS FEST
Lineup is still TBA, but there are always killer metal sets at Hospital Productions Fest, which announced its 2019 date/venue and put early bird tickets on sale.
