Metal tours announced: Slayer, Misfits, Disentomb, Bury Your Dead, Inter Arma, more
Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too...
SLAYER / PRIMUS / MINISTRY / PHIL ANSELMO (playing PANTERA)
MISFITS / RANCID / THE DAMNED
The reunited Misfits (with Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle) announced a Madison Square Garden show with Rancid and The Damned, bringing their total of upcoming shows to five. Rancid and The Damned also have other dates.
INTER ARMA / CREEPING DEATH
Inter Arma will continue to support their great new album Sulphur English with a late summer tour opened by Creeping Death.
ORANSSI PAZUZU / INSECT ARK
Finnish psychedelic metal band Oranssi Pazuzu are going on their first-ever North American tour with support from Insect Ark.
Australian death metallers Disentbomb released their new album The Decaying Light on Unique Leader Records and put out the video for "Indecipherable Sermons of Gloom" today, and they're also gearing up for the "Bloodletting North America Tour" with Visceral Disgorge, Signs of the Swarm, Continuum, Organectomy and Within Destruction. All dates (including Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on 10/2) here.
PATHOLOGY / NARCOTIC WASTELAND / MALIGNANCY
Narcotic Wasteland (the current band of former Nile frontman Dallas Toler-Wade) are hitting the road opening up for San Diego slammers, and Yonkers tech-deathsters Malignancy are opening the first leg. That leg includes Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on 8/17 and shows in Columbus, Cincinnati, Boston, Montreal, and more. All dates and tickets here.
BURY YOUR DEAD / UPON A BURNING BODY
Boston metalcore crew Bury Your Dead are hitting the road with direct support from Upon A Burning Body, and they're bringing Great American Ghost and Born A New along for the ride to. The tour hits Cambridge, Clifton Park, Brooklyn (9/15 at Saint Vitus), Chicago, Detroit, and more. All dates here. Bury Your Dead recently released their first song in eight years, "Collateral."
CLAUDIO SIMONETTI'S GOBLIN
Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin are promising that a “full tour announcement is coming soon,” but first, they’ve announced a NYC show where they will perform their classic score for Dario Argento’s 1975 film Deep Red (Profondo Rosso) in full. More dates soon.
BLACK TUSK / CLOAK
Two heavy Georgia bands, sludge-punks Black Tusk and classic rock-inspired black metallers Cloak, are doing a Southeast run together this September, hitting New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Little Rock, and Memphis (all dates here). Black Tusk also have a few other shows this week, and, as mentioned, Cloak are touring with Khemmis (including Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on 7/19).
UK anarcho-punk vets Conflict were recently in the US for Punk Rock Bowling, and they'll return for a tour here in September. That includes a Brooklyn show on 9/17 at The Kingsland with Sewer Skrewer and more TBA. More tour dates are also still TBA, but you can read more info about the band's touring plans here.
O'BROTHER / THE END OF THE OCEAN / HOLY FAWN
Post-hardcore staples O'Brother are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album The Death of Day on tour this year, and they've lined up pretty incredible support: back-in-action post-rockers The End of the Ocean and shoegazy black metallers Holy Fawn (who recently signed to Triple Crown). All dates (Including Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on 10/10) here.
CAPTURED! BY ROBOTS / BEHOLD... THE ARCTOPUS / DYSRHYTHMIA
To quote Wikipedia, Captured! By Robots "is a touring grindcore band with only one human member. The music is all played physically by the 2 robots, GTRBOT666 and DRMBOT0110, and the human slave Jbot." The long-running band is promising a new album soon, and they've also announced a lengthy headlining tour for September through November. There's a run with very solid support from Behold... the Arctopus and Dysrhythmia that hits Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on 10/9. They're also opening the Oakland date of Nile and Terrorizer's tour on 11/24, and promising a West Coast tour for January. All dates and more info here.
