Metallica, Roger Waters & more playing Neil Young's 2016 Bridge School benefit

Neil Young‘s 30th annual benefit concert for The Bridge School happens October 22 & 23 at at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. Tickets go on sale Monday, August 29 at 10 AM PDT.

Neil plays as always (with his band Promise of the Real), and the lineup also includes thrash legends Metallica, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, the new Neko Case/k.d. lang/Laura Veirs band case/lang/veirs, outlaw country great Willie Nelson, jammy indie rockers My Morning Jacket, jazz-pop staple Norah Jones, and former Crazy Horse/current E Street band member Nils Lofgren. There’s also Cage the Elephant and Dave Matthews.

The Bridge School ” is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that individuals with severe speech and physical impairments achieve full participation in their communities through the use of augmentative & alternative means of communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT) applications and through the development, implementation and dissemination of innovative life-long educational strategies.” Trailer video for the 2016 benefit concert, below.

Metallca, who also play Global Citizen Fest in Central Park and just announced a new album, recently played that album’s lead single “Hardwired” live for the first time. It happened at the opening for Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium. Watch (via Stereogum):
