METZ and Swami John Reis

METZ releasing split single with Mission of Burma and collaborative single with John Reis for #RSD2016 (listen)

Toronto ear-bleeders METZ have not one but two collaborative 7″s coming out for Record Store Day this year. In addition to the split with Mission of Burma (where they cover each other’s songs), they’ve also got a single that made with Drive Like Jehu/Hot Snakes/Rocket From the Crypt frontman John Reis that will be out via Reis’ Swami records. More info from the entertaining press release:

When METZ found themselves on tour in San Diego with a couple hours to spare, Swami John Reis (Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From the Crypt, Night Marchers, Hot Snakes) immediately booked some studio time with the hopes of capturing the glorious noise of this collaboration. The four of them came up with two songs and now they are friends for life. The sound is reminiscent of an army of seagulls inside a burning Benihana of Tokyo.

If you’ve been wondering what an army of seagulls inside a burning Benihana of Tokyo sounds like, you can stream “Caught Up” below. As you night expect, it’s a burner.

METZ will be play ATP 2.0 in Manchester, England this month (Rocket from The Crypt play too) and will also tour Europe later this spring. No NYC shows but all dates are listed below.
