Micachu & the Shapes @ LPR 9/12/2015
London's Micachu & the Shapes began their short North American tour over the weekend with a few NYC shows, playing a surprise Fashion Week afterparty at Elvis Guesthouse on Thursday (9/10), and then shows at Alphaville in Friday (9/11) and Le Poisson Rouge on Saturday (9/12). Their new album, Good Sad Happy Bad, which came out on Friday, was born out of loose rehearsal jams and, to be honest, that's kind of what it still sounded like at the Alphaville show. It could've been my unfamiliarity with the record or the live sound, but the set -- almost entirely new material -- was sludgy and loose. We've got pictures from the next night at Le Poisson Rouge, where Micachu played with Blues Control, in this post. Anyone go to the LPR show?
