Canadian singer-songwriter Michael Rault has signed with Daptone rock subsidiary Wick Records and will release his next album through the label in 2018. While he's still putting the finishing touches on that, Michael has shared new track "Sleep with Me" which he recorded at Daptone’s House of Soul studio in Brooklyn with musicians who've played with Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley. "I wrote this song about dreams and sleeping, and escaping the realities of day-to-day life," says Rault. "It also has slick guitarmonies! I was digging Wings & ELO and the grandiose pop arrangements of the 70's, and decided to try my hand at something kind of over the top like that." You can definitely hear the McCartney influence on this one and you can watch the video for the song, plus listen to his 2012 album Whirlpool, below.

You can catch Michael Rault live at a few North American shows this month, including a stop at Brooklyn's Alphaville on Thursday (11/9) with BOYTOY and Baby Jey (tickets). He'll also play M for Montreal next week, plus shows in Los Angeles and Toronto. All dates are listed below.

Wed. Nov. 15 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Moroccan Lounge
