On April 7, Michelle Branch releases her first album in 14 years, Hopeless Romantic (via Verve), which was co-produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys. You already heard the title track, and she more recently put out "Best You Ever." This one's a synth-fueled jam and, like the title track, more laid back than her early hits. Check it out, with the music video for the title track, below.

Before any music from the album was out, Michelle played a very intimate, semi-secret NYC show at Bowery Electric in January. Now she's scheduled a record release show here at the only-slightly-larger Marlin Room at Webster Hall on April 7, the day the album comes out. The Bowery Electric show had her backed by Patrick Carney, as well as both core members of Tennis, though no word on who will back her at Webster Hall yet. (It won't be Tennis since they're on tour then.) Tickets go on sale Friday (3/10) at 10 AM.

Her only other upcoming show we're aware of is in London on March 22.
