Midge Ure played Gramercy Theater with Richard Lloyd (pics, setlist)

Former frontman for Ultravox (and member of Visage and Thin Lizzy), Midge Ure brought his current tour to NYC on October 2 for a show at Gramercy Theater. His set leaned heavily on Ultravox (“Vienna,” “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes”) and solo material (“Dear God” and his #1 UK hit “If I Was”), as you might imagine, but he also performed Visage’s “Fade to Grey” and closed the night with an encore of David Bowie’s “Starman.” Midge sounded strong and was clearly having a blast, smiling and occasionally posturing for the audience as he led his trio through the paces.

Opening the show was the great Richard Lloyd, who performed a short set that concluded with the night’s only Television number, “Marquee Moon.” Pictures from the whole evening are in the gallery above and Midge’s setlist is below.
