Ska-punk vets The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will release their first album in seven years (and tenth overall), While We’re At It, on June 15, nearly three decades after the release of their 1989 debut. The first single is "Wonderful Day For The Race," which sounds just like the Bosstones have always sounded, and at this point in their career, that's not a bad thing. "That song was based on the insignificance of what we truly are, up against the importance of what we are," the Bosstones' gravelly-as-ever frontman Dicky Barrett told Billboard. "Our place in the universe and who we think we are versus who we really are. It flip-flops back and forth between those two thoughts, ultimately landing on the importance of love and unity." Listen below.

The Bosstones are also kicking off a tour this month, starting with Vegas' Punk Rock Bowling, then Fat Mike's Camp Punk In Drublic in Ohio, and then Montebello Rockfest, before a handful of club shows.

In August, they're throwing their own inaugural hometown festival in the Boston area, the Cranking & Skanking Fest, which takes place 8/25 at Worcester Palladium Outdoors. The Bosstones headline, and the fest also features reggae legends Toots & the Maytals, NJ punks The Bouncing Souls, the genre-defying Fishbone, DC ska vets The Pietasters, Montreal ska-punks The Planet Smashers, and more TBA. Tickets are on sale.
