Mike Birbiglia playing NYC shows before “The New One” tour continues
Comedian Mike Birbiglia has been touring his most recently show, "The New One," since the fall. (It's his first since "Thank God for the Jokes" which you may have seen on Netflix.) He's got more "The New One" dates starting in mid-April, including shows in the South and Southwest, as well as a show in London in June.
Before that Mike has some appearances in his home of NYC, including two this week: tonight (3/27) at The Bell House he's part of "An Evening with The Comedy Resistance" that mixes comedy and political activism and is also with Hari Kondabolu (The Problem with Apu), Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofolo, and Cipha Sounds (tickets); and then another benefit, "Never Again: A Night to Benefit Stoneman Douglas High School," which is Thursday (3/29) also at The Bell House and with Dave Hill, Lena Hall, Seth Herzog, Jo Firestone, Michelle Buteau, Christian Finnegan and more (tickets).
You can also catch Mike at The Comedy Cellar this week on Wednesday (3/28, 7:30 show), Thursday (3/29, 7:30 & 9:30 shows), Friday (3/30, 7:30 & 8:45 shows + 7:30 Village Underground show), and Saturday (3/31, 7 & 8:45 shows + 7:15 Village Underground show) and you can make reservations for those now.
Mike is also presenting a show called "The Whole Story" which happens at Union Hall on April 8 with Jacqueline Novak and Chris Lake. Mike explains:
Hey guys, Mike Birbiglia here. I'm doing something a little different this time. I'm producing (but not performing in) a night of comedy storytelling. I’ve noticed that some of the special guests on my tours have great stories that they don’t always tell on stage. The stories are longer. Sometimes they’re uncomfortable. But they’re also very, very funny. So often we hear comics make reference to some crazy situation or encounter but we don’t hear the whole thing. So that’s what this show is. The Whole Story.
