Dead Cross

Mike Patton joins Dead Cross; Dave Lombardo drumming on 'Late Night w/ Seth Meyers' this week

We haven’t heard a whole lot from Dead Cross, the newly-formed hardcore outfit that features Slayer’s Dave Lombardo and The Locust’s Justin Pearson, since they formed back in March. But after playing a few shows here and there, there’s been an exciting announcement out of that camp: the one and only Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc) is joining the band.

Dead Cross is supposedly currently working on their debut album, which is set to drop at some point in early 2017 via Ipecac. They played Ozzfest Meets Knotfest earlier this year, along with a handful of other shows (including opening for the Melvins in LA, who are of course also on Ipecac).

Meanwhile, Dave Lombardo will be joining Late Night With Seth Meyers this week as the guest drummer for Seth’s house band (which also currently includes Mary Timony of Ex Hex/Helium/Wild Flag:

And among this week’s musical guests on that program are Megadeth, who are in town for the Epiphone/Revolver Music Awards. (and  maybe playing Saint Vitus tonight), so maybe Mustaine and Lombardo can get in some good ’80s thrash talk, or something.
