Mirah announces new album & tour (dates / new song stream)

by Andrew Sacher

Mirah

Alt-singer/songwriter Mirah is back with her fifth album, Changing Light, which comes out on April 8 via her own Absolute Magnitude label with help from longtime label K Records. The first single, “Oxen Hope,” sees Mirah in typically great form with her voice manipulated by some cool effects. You can stream that song, along with the LP tracklist, below.

The album features contributions from Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier, Ex Hex/Wild Flag/Helium’s Mary Timony, Mount Moriah’s Heather McEntire, indie/hip hop violinist Emily Wells, and arrangements from Amanda Palmer/David Byrne/etc collaborator Jherek Bischoff.

Ahead of the album’s release, Mirah is doing a few west coast shows before SXSW, and a few days after the record drops, she’ll play a NYC show at Supper Studio on April 12. Tickets (including a 5-course dinner) for that show go on sale February 25 via the venue’s website. Show flyer below.
