Mirah preps deluxe reissue of debut LP (listen to Mount Eerie’s cover of “Of Pressure”)
Mirah is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album, You Think It's Like This But Really It's Like This, with a double LP reissue. The first disc features a remastered version of the album, and the second is a collection of covers of its songs, by Mount Eerie (whose Phil Elverum co-produced the album), The Blow (whose Khaela Maricich sang on some songs), Sad13 (Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz), Mal Blum, Allison Crutchfield, Hand Habits, Flock of Dimes (Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak), Half Waif, Shamir, Palehound,, and more. See the full tracklist below.
The re-issue comes out July 31 via Double Double Whammy, and they've shared Mount Eerie's cover of "Of Pressure." It's a fuzzy, noisy take on on the track, and about it, Phil says, "It was a joy to record my version of Mirah's song 'Of Pressure' using the old cassette 4 track and all the instruments we used to use together in the old days. Same air organ, same antique drum machine, same chaos. I remember when Mirah first recorded her original. It was part of a batch of songs that she worked on independently of our collaboration in Dub Narcotic studio. Her 4 track world. That one was a big built world of mounting layers, the feeling of pressure and depth. I loved it and I still do. I wanted to see if I could make it a little more oppressive even."

Mirah has been performing on her Instagram on Thursday nights at 8 PM ET throughout the pandemic.
