Justin Carter

Mister Saturday Night's Justin Carter releasing a solo album, has a new video

Justin Carter is one half of the Mister Saturday Night dance party/label (with Eamon Harkin), and he also makes his own music. He recently released a new single called “Know It All,” which is a nice gentle dose of art pop that’s pretty far removed from the dance music you usually associate with Mister Saturday Night. It’s a song that sort of finds the middle ground between Menomena and The Books. It recently got a video starring Justin mouthing the words, and we’re now premiering the song’s alternate video which is basically the same video except in this one he’s hanging upside down. What a concept! Watch both below.

The song will appear on Justin’s upcoming album, The Leaves Fall, which drops on February 24 via Mister Saturday Night Records. The album features pianist Jason Lindner, who played on Bowie’s Blackstar, cello from Archie Pelago’s Greg Heffernan, and programming by LIES and Trilogy Tapes producer Marcos Cabral. It was mixed by Benjamin Tierney, who also worked on Kamasi Washington’s The Epic. That’s the artwork above and you can check out the tracklist below.

As always, MIster Saturday Night have some DJ events coming up in their hometown of NYC. They’re doing their new-ish event series Planetarium on January 27 and February 24 at secret locations. The latter also features a live set from Justin. Justin and Eamon also do their Mister Sunday party on January 29 at Shea Stadium, and they’re playing NYC’s Panorama festival this year.
