The 2019 edition of the Mondo NYC, the annual "festival and global business summit of music and tech industry insiders and innovators, emerging artists and their fans," started by the founders of CMJ, happens in NYC from October 15-18. Most of the conference events will happen at The Williamsburg Hotel and featured speakers this year include the Rev. Al Sharpton, Michael Dorf (City Winery), DJ/producer Hank Shocklee, Joan Osborne, Variety's Jem Aswad, DJ Spooky, and more. Among the talks and panel discussions are "Charts in the Streaming Era," "When Is a Song a Lawsuit?" and "How TikTok Took Over Music." There is also the Second Annual NYC Guild of Music Supervisors Education Event & Film Festival on October 18.

The showcase portion of Mondo NYC features performances at Arlene’s Grocery, Berlin, Bowery Electric, Brooklyn Bowl, The Delancey, DROM, Knitting Factory, Pianos, and more, with a lineup of mostly smaller and emerging artists, including Futurebirds, The Bobby Lees, The Fleshtones, Yung Bae, and more.
