Montreal band Chocolat releasing new LP, 'Tss Tss' (stream it)

Jimmy Hunt is well-known in Montreal and other Franco-speaking regions of Canada where his chanson-style folk, like on his 2010 self-titled solo debut, has made him quite popular. But he also plays more experimental music with his band Chocolat, who fall somewhere between Jacques Dutronc’s garagey period and prog-psych. The band have toured the East Coast with Jay Reatard and have played Montreal shows with Black Lips. Chocolat’s new album, Tss Tss, will be out next week (10/21) and is definitely more on the proggy side. While you might not understand the lyrics, the trip is universal. (Think Mercury Rev / Flaming Lips.) You can listen to the whole thing — the album premieres in this post.
