More Pain

More Pain (Justin Pearson, Nick Zinner) prep debut EP (hear a song)

More Pain is the collaboration of Justin Pearson (The Locust, Retox, Dead Cross, etc) and Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), who also both play together in Head Wound City, and they’re releasing their debut self-titled EP on April 19 via Pearson’s Three One G label (pre-order). We’re premiering the lead single, “Hammering Tenderness,” which is 27 seconds of blasty, grindy, hardcore fury. Justin Pearson’s coarse scream is as perfect for this kinda thing as you’d expect, and it’s always extra exciting to hear Nick Zinner flaunt the heavier side that he only hints at in YYYs. The song rips, and it’s getting us excited to hear even more More Pain. It comes with an equally dark and spastic video, directed by Joana Lopes (who has also done music video work for Justin Pearson’s band Planet B). Check it out, along with the artwork and tracklist, below.
