Morne at Europa, 2012 (more by Fred Pessaro)

The excellent Boston doom/sludge act Morne were quiet for much of 2013's second half; they released an album on Profound Lore in July, but scarcely appeared after its release. (They were evidently on a brief hiatus.) The band is evidently back in the hunt now, as they've announced a pair of East Coast live appearances, one of which is at the Acheron on December 28 (12/28). They will be accompanied by like-minded and like-named fellow Bostonians Fórn and BK's Tombs (who are currently recording their third album with Erik Rutan). Tix are available. The show unfortunately falls on the same day as the aforementioned Suffocation/Pyrexia show at Webster Hall, but at least you'll have options when it comes time to blow the $20 your granny gave you for Xmas. Morn tour dates -- they play a hometown show after Acheron -- are listed below

In related news, Tombs have also just announced an ABC No Rio matinee show on December 14 (12/14) with regional powers Sannhet, Argonauts, Windfaerer, and Barbarian. As usual for ABC No Rio, there are no advance tickets, just $8 at the door.
