Morrissey shows postponed to December (updated)

Morrissey was optimistic, only cancelling a week’s worth of shows after Gustavo fell ill, but now this week’s 11/23 Michigan show at Royal Oak Music Theatre is off too, but unlike previous cancelled dates, this one has been postponed to 12/7. Tickets for the new date are on sale. Official reason: “Due to a member of the Morrissey touring party’s illness, and a full recovery is expected shortly”. (Get well soon, Gustavo!)

As of this post, Chicago (11/25) and Cleveland (11/27) are still selling tickets for their original dates, but there’s a rumor that they’ll be postponed too…

UPDATE: Chicago is officially postponed too. Announcement:

The Morrissey concert scheduled for Sunday November 27 at the Aragon Ballroom has been postponed due to illness. The new concert date is Saturday December 10, 2016. Show time is 7:30pm.
General admission tickets are $65 and available online in advance and at the Aragon Ballroom box office on the night of the show. All tickets previously purchased for the November 27 date will be honored on the December 10 date.

UPDATE: Cleveland is officially postponed to December 9th.

There are also rumored makeup dates for the three cancelled TX shows (though that would be a little weird since those TX shows were actually cancelled and refunds were already offered).

UPDATE: Morrissey-solo confirms that Houston is rescheduled for December 16th.

UPDATE: The Nov. 17 show in San Antonio at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts has been moved to the Majestic Theatre on Saturday, December 17. “Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, November 30 at 10 a.m. Fans who purchased tickets for the postponed show on November 17 will receive access to a presale offer from the Tobin Center via email on Tuesday, November 29th at 8 a.m.”

UPDATE: The Dallas show is also rescheduled.

This days old Facebook post from photographer Sam Etsy Rayner has been making the rounds and fueling rumors before any of this was announced:

Morrissey is planning a big end-of-tour Saturday night at Oakland Auditorium where all of M’s heroes – Martin Luther King, James Baldwin, Angela Davis, Huey Newton – gave famous speeches. Oakland was also the first city to go up in flames once the Trump Tragedy had been announced. Be there or be square.

As far as I know:
7 dec Royal Oak
9 dec Cleveland
10 dec Chicago
15 dec Dallas
17 dec Houston
18 dec San Antonio

And then Oakland – the big bang

Royal Oak came true, so maybe the rest will too. Update: Cleveland and Chicago are accurate too. UPDATE: Houston is happening but on the 16th of December, and the other 2 TX shows too, but on different dates (see below).

Morrissey also just played Chicago (Riot Fest) over the summer. A gallery of photos from that show can be viewed above.
