Motion City Soundtrack's 'I Am the Movie' gets new limited color vinyl repress (pre-order here)

Motion City Soundtrack are gearing up to finally take their beloved 2005 sophomore album Commit This to Memory on tour this summer, and we’re also teaming with the band on a new translucent ruby red vinyl pressing of their classic 2003 debut I Am the Movie, limited to just 300 copies. Pre-order yours while they last.

Recorded with producer Ed Rose (The Appleseed Cast, The Casket Lottery, etc), I Am the Movie was released on Epitaph in 2003 and it birthed the band’s breakthrough single, “The Future Freaks Me Out.” Their quirky, synth-fueled, power pop-inspired emo was always a little weirder and more “indie rock” than the Warped Tour bands they were often associated with, and that was clear off the bat with this album, which has aged a lot better than a lot of the other pop punk/emo records that were coming out around this time. If you haven’t heard it in a while (or ever), it’s worth giving a spin. Stream it and watch a couple videos from the album below.

Motion City Soundtrack’s Commit This To Memory tour with All Get Out hits the NYC-area on June 18 at Starland Ballroom and June 19 at Terminal 5. All dates here.
