Mr. Bungle brought out Harley Flanagan in Brooklyn (night 1 video, setlist)

Mr. Bungle recently played their first shows in 20 years in Los Angeles last week, and last night they brought their reunion tour to NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on Monday (2/10), as part of a sold out two-night stand at the venue. The band’s current lineup of Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, and Trey Spruance (along with Anthrax’s Scott Ian and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo) didn’t stray too far from their LA setlist, as they treated fans to songs from their 1986 demo The Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny, along with full or partial covers of the Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood theme (which opened the show), Slayer’s “Hell Awaits,” Seals & Crofts’ “Summer Breeze” (also famously covered by Type O Negative), Siege’s “Cold War,” “Speak English or Die” (which they changed to “Speak Spanish or Die”) by Scott Ian’s band Stormtroopers of Death, Corrosion of Conformity’s “Loss for Words,” and Mike Patton’s band Faith No More’s “The Real Thing,” which played into a cover of 7 Seconds’ “You Lose.”

The band have also been covering Cro-Mags‘ “Malfunction” at these shows, and in Brooklyn they brought out Cro-Mags’ Harley Flanagan to play it with them. They finished the night with a cover of The Exploited’s “Fuck the USA.” You can watch tons of fan-shot video, and view the band’s setlist, below.

Mr. Bungle also brought out some hand-picked openers for last night’s show, including grindcore band Full of Hell, and Brooklyn trio Spotlights. The band do it again at Brooklyn Steel tonight (2/11) for another sold-out date, this time with openers Antidote and Cleric. Here’s the flyer for tonight’s show:
