About a half hour before Muse took the stage the rain came down and fans put on ponchos, opened umbrellas and didn’t move a muscle despite the drizzle. The set began with the new song “Dig Down,” which was released earlier this year, and everyone got a little “Psycho” when the band played that track off their Drones album.

The energy and the rain drops only amplified when the sounds of older Muse anthems “Map of the Problematique” and “Hysteria” filled the park. And the rain eased up as frontman Matt Bellamy’s falsetto shined through tracks like “Bliss” and “Super Massive Blackhole.”

A highlight of the set was their cover of The Cramps’ “New Kind of Kick” as well as their acoustic version of “Undisclosed Desires.” But nothing beats hundreds of fans singing “Our hopes and expectations / Black holes and revelations / Our hopes and expectations / Black holes and revelations” the chorus to “Starlight.” That same song was dedicated to the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park two nights before at their Jones Beach show. - [Loudwire]

Muse played Central Park SummerStage on Monday night (7/24), a special benefit show for Coalition for the Homeless. Rain didn't put a damper on things too much, and the band played a mix of new and old, including a cover of The Cramps' "New Kind of Kick" and such favorites as "Supermassive Black Hole," and over-the-top Spaghetti Western set closer "Knights of Cydonia." Setlist is below and pictures from the SummerStage show are in the gallery above.

This was a much smaller show than the one Muse played just two days before at Jones Beach Theatre (7/22) which featured a similar (but not identical) setlist and, as the Loudwire review quoted above notes, a dedication of "Starlight" to Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Jones Beach setlist is below as well.

Muse also stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on July 20 to perform "Dig Down" and you can watch that below.
