North Carolina lo-fi punks Museum Mouth have signed to Say Anything frontman Max Bemis' Equal Vision Records imprint Rory Records for the followup to 2013's Alex I Am Nothing. The new album's called Popcorn Fish Guinea Pig and it comes out on April 29 via their new label home (pre-order). We've got the premiere of its new single, "Riff From My Head." As I've written before about Museum Mouth, singer Karl Kuehn's eccentric vocals are what instantly set this band apart from their peers. It's the thing that will make you either hate the band or love them (hopefully the latter!), but either way you'll never mistake them for someone else. His last record was about the pain of developing feelings for a straight man that were doomed to be unrequited, but "Riff From My Head" is the sound of Karl getting over it. "It dawned on me tonight while laying in my bed that I don't really think about you," the song begins. Here's what else he tells us:

I spent all of 2013 trying to make a straight man love me, wrote an album about it (Alex I Am Nothing), and then got over it LOL!!! As cheesy as this sounds, just writing those songs helped me get through it, and "Riff" is an attempt to acknowledge that fact. And when you have a super scratched up copy of Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette in your car that skips on every track except "You Oughta Know" I think that's the universe talking or something idk."

Check out the new song, and the album's previous single "Incubus Tattoo," below.

Museum Mouth are also hitting the road soon with their new label bosses Say Anything, plus mewithoutYou and Teen Suicide (good bill all around). If you're in Houston or Austin, you're luckier then the rest of us, 'cause those dates have this tour hooking up with the Modern Baseball / Joyce Manor / Thin Lips tour.

For those of you in NYC and NJ, the tour hits Webster Hall on May 13 and Starland Ballroom on May 15. Tickets for Webster and Starland are still available. List of all tour dates, below.

Tourmates Teen Suicide are also now streaming their new album, the massive 26-song It's the Big Joyous Celebration, Let's Stir the Honeypot. Listen here.
