Music festival coming to Bryant Park?

NYC is quickly going from the city that can’t sustain a music festival to the music festival capital of the United States. Two Coachella/Lollapalooza-like festivals are happening at Randall’s Island this summer: the AEG owned Panorama and the now-Live Nation owned Governors Ball. EDM fest Electric Zoo is still going strong at the same venue. Electric Daisy Carnival happens at Citi Field. Mysteryland is in nearby Bethel Woods. Afropunk continues each year in Fort Greene. CMJ, Northside and now the Grid are doing the mutli-venue thing, and I think I’m missing some.

Meanwhile, we know that Panorama actually plans to eventually happen in Queens where at least one more music festival is also trying to happen, and now we hear that a ticketed Bryant Park music festival is being planned for the end of September. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge…
