Mutual Benefit announce new album 'Skip a Sinking Stone,' release "Not For Nothing" video, touring

Mutual Benefit have announced a new album, Skip a Sinking Stone, due out May 20 via Mom + Pop, their first for the label (pre-order). The first single is the folky, string-laden “Not For Nothing,” which feels a bit warmer than the material on their 2013 debut. It’s definitely worth checking out, which you can do by watching the video below (via Pitchfork).

We recently mentioned that they’re opening Deer Tick’s acoustic tour, and they’ve now announced another leg of dates happening after that. It includes shows in the band’s hometown of NYC on June 22 at Mercury Lounge and June 23 at Baby’s All Right. Tickets for Merc go on sale Friday (3/4) at noon, and ticket info for Baby’s is coming soon. All dates are listed below.
