My Brightest Diamond debuting new material live, playing NYC with Jose James

Back in September, My Brightest Diamond (aka Shara Nova) released a new acoustic song, “Wish For The Moon,” and also confirmed that she finished sessions on a followup to 2014’s very good This Is My Hand. Still no word on an album title or release date, but she did just announce three shows that she’s promising to debut new music at (in NYC, Chicago, and Detroit).

The NYC show is a Winter Jazzfest-presented show happening at Le Poisson Rouge on January 11, and she’ll be opening for neo-soul singer Jose James, who will be doing one of his “Jose James Celebrates Bill Withers” shows. Knower also opens. Tickets are on sale.

Jose James has other 2018 tour dates, including a run of eight shows at NYC’s Blue Note from February 4-8 (two each night) in celebration the 10th anniversary of his 2008 debut album The Dreamer (tickets).
