My Robot Friend

My Robot Friend, the electronic musical pseudonym of Howard Robot (aka Howard Rigberg), is about to release his fourth album, Open the Book, on March 4. It’s his first since 2009’s Soft Core, and like previous albums, features a few guest vocalists. Previous collaborator Dean Wareham performs on three songs, including “Emancipated Hearts” which was also the title track to his 2013 solo record. (Wareham’s wife Britta Phillips also sings on one track.). For four of Open the Book‘s more soulful electropop numbers, MRF drafts newcomer Andre Williams, including a cover of TLC’s “Creep.”
