Mystery Science Theater 3000 announces 'The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour'

While we wait on official word of a new season for Netflix, Mystery Science Theater 3000 is hitting the road once again this fall, as part of “The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour.” The tour, which extends into the winter and 2020, will feature the show’s creator Joel Hodgson, on what is being marketed as his final MST3K live tour, alongside bots Tom Servo, Crow, and Gypsy. “This is the last chance to see Joel as he celebrates his final live tour performing the unique comedic art form he created,” an official announcement reads. “The exhilarating, nonstop, rapid-fire hilarity is brimming with hundreds of jokes riffed on a ‘So-Bad-It’s-Good’ feature film, plus spirited sketches and songs that turn the stage into a circus-themed party.”

According to Joel, current host Jonah Ray will not be appearing onstage during this tour, but will be “deeply involved creatively with this tour as a writer and riff producer.” The tour features two very cheesy films, with early Jean-Claude Van Damme film No Retreat, No Surrender and 1960 British horror film Circus of Horrors on select dates. Stops include Brooklyn, Indianapolis, Boston, Washington D.C., Philly, Detroit, Dallas, Minneapolis, and more.

The Brooklyn shows happen at Kings Theatre on September 19 & 20. Tickets to both shows go on sale Friday (6/7) at 10 AM EST.
