Neil deGrasse Tyson will keep AMNH job after sexual misconduct investigation
Astrophysicist and Star Talk / Cosmos host Neil deGrasse Tyson will remain the director of the Hayden Planetarium at NYC's American Museum of Natural History following an internal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against him, New York Times reports. In a statement, a museum spokesperson said, "The museum’s investigation into allegations concerning Neil deGrasse Tyson is complete. Based on the results of the investigation, Dr. Tyson remains an employee and director of the Hayden Planetarium. Because this is a confidential personnel matter, there will be no further statements by the museum."
Allegations against Tyson were made by four different women; one of them described an incident she said happened inside the museum at a 2010 holiday party.
National Geographic and Fox also cleared Tyson to return to Cosmos and Star Talk after carrying out their own investigations. A March statement from National Geographic read, "StarTalk will return to the air with the remaining 13 episodes in April on National Geographic, and both Fox and National Geographic are committed to finding an air date for Cosmos. There will be no further comment."
