Neil deGrasse Tyson’s ‘StarTalk’ pulled amid sexual misconduct allegations
Neil deGrasse Tyson's show Star Talk has been pulled by National Geographic following allegations of sexual misconduct against him, Variety reports. The show was three episodes into its fifth season when the allegations surfaced, and has been on hiatus since while Fox Networks Group investigates.
A National Geographic representative told Variety, "in order to allow the investigation to occur unimpeded we chose to hold new episodes of Star Talk until it is complete. We expect that to happen in the next few weeks at which time we’ll make a final decision."
Another series hosted by Tyson, Cosmos: Possible Worlds, is scheduled to return to National Geographic for its third season on March 4. No word yet on whether that will be pulled, as well.
Tyson denied the allegations against him in a lengthy statement, suggesting that his actions were misinterpreted. He did not respond to a fourth allegation, made by an anonymous woman and reported on by Buzzfeed.
